Sea trial for our in-house designed diesel electric dredger Emerald Duchess for our client PD Ports. The 2.000m3 TSHD has been designed and built to the clients specification to ensure it can carry out its tasks on the Tees to the highest environmental and safety standards. The special feature of this ship is that in addition to the three MAN generator sets, which are equipped with the state-of-art after-treatment systems, a large battery is also installed. This battery is to quickly absorb peaks in the power needed, but the ship can even use it for short periods of time completely emission-free, for example, to sail out of or into a port.
